Spring is just around the corner, and we could not be more excited. As the days start to get longer and warmer, we will be spending more time in our outdoor space. The outdoor space is a great way to engage with your friends and family safely. It is easy to overlook when designing a home. However, outdoor space has turned into an all-purpose all seasons room. Like any other room, you want to decide what your focal point will be in your area. That could be a pool, a fire pit, or maybe your outdoor dining table. Once the focal point is decided, find things that help the functionality of that space. That could be anything from additional seating or surfaces if you plan to entertain heavily or the type of plants you want if you plan to have a structured garden. When designing a space, you want to tell a story and ask yourself periodically is this still the story I want to tell. Some people might wish their outdoor space to be solely for entertaining, while others want their area to be a relaxing oasis.
Landscaping ties it all together, and you can create a space that can transport you anywhere. If you want to feel like you’re in Italy or want to feel like you are in California, landscaping can bring that vision to life. Spring is the perfect time to add some pops of color to your outdoor space. Impatiens, Begonias, Vincas, and Geraniums are all great plants to give your outdoor space a fresh pop of color. Boxwood Shrubs and evergreens shrubs are a great way to prove structure and shape to your outdoor space. Plants are the perfect inexpensive way to change your outdoor space entirely.
